Countryside Conservation Funding Scheme

The Countryside Conservation Funding Scheme (CCFS) aims to support local non-profit-making organisations and villagers to take forward sustainable and holistic conservation in Hong Kong’s remote countryside based on interactive and co-operative approach. The CCFS covers a wide spectrum of areas on different levels ranging from natural environment / habitats, non-graded built heritage to cultural and historic assets.

The Environment and Conservation Fund provides funding support for eligible organisations to carry out educational, research and other projects and activities in relation to environmental and conservation matters.

Green Tech Fund

The Government set up the Green Tech Fund in 2020 to provide better and more focused funding support to research and development projects which can help Hong Kong decarbonise and enhance environmental protection, thereby helping Hong Kong pursue the target of carbon neutrality before 2050.

New Energy Transport Fund

To improve air quality and reduce carbon emission, the Government has put in place a $1.1 billion New Energy Transport Fund to subsidise the testing and encourage wider use of green innovative transport technologies. The Fund is open for applications from transport trade and charitable/non-profit making organisations.

Recycling Fund

The Recycling Fund aims to promote the application of technology for higher value-added products for realization of re-industrialisation, reducing disposal of waste at landfills and promotion of circular economy. The Fund is open for application all year round.

Lantau Conservation Fund

The Government set up a $1 billion Lantau Conservation Fund (LCF) to promote and implement conservation initiatives of Lantau, and to pursue minor local improvement works in villages and communities in support of conservation initiatives. Half of the LCF ($500 million) is for applications by eligible institutions and local post-secondary education institutions to conduct research, education and engagement projects, or collaborate with local communities and land owners to carry out conservation and related projects in Lantau.
