Online application for Immigration Arrangements for Non-local Graduates (IANG)

Who Can Use This Service

You can use the online service to submit your application for IANG if you fall into the following categories.

(1)

Non-local students Note 1 who have obtained an undergraduate or higher qualification in a full-time and Locally-accredited programme in the HKSAR (hereinafter “Non-local graduates”)

Note 1: Non-local students refer to persons entering the HKSAR for the purpose of education with a student visa / entry permit issued by the Director of Immigration.

 

(A) Non-local recent graduates (submission of applications within 6 months after the date of their graduation (i.e. the date shown on their graduation certificates))

 

(B) Non-local non-recent graduates (submission of applications beyond 6 months of the date of their graduation (i.e. the date shown on their graduation certificates))

Interim extension of stay on student status to await graduation result (applicable to non-local recent graduates only)

(3)

Graduates who have obtained an undergraduate or higher qualification in a full-time programme offered by the GBA campus of a Hong Kong university Note 2 (hereinafter “GBA Campus Graduates”)

Note 2: GBA campus of a Hong Kong university refers to a higher education institution in the Mainland cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area jointly established by universities of the Mainland and Hong Kong in accordance with the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools.

 

(A) GBA campus recent graduates (submission of applications within 6 months after the date of their graduation (i.e. the date shown on their graduation certificates))

 

(B) GBA campus non-recent graduates (submission of applications beyond 6 months of the date of their graduation (i.e. the date shown on their graduation certificates))

 

If you are applying for interim extension of stay on student status to await graduation result, you are not eligible to use the service if:

(1)

you are not physically present in Hong Kong at the time of submission;

(2)

you will not be physically present in Hong Kong at the time of collection of your “e-Visa”;

(3)

you are on visitor status;

(4)

your remaining limit of stay is more than 4 weeks;

(5)

your limit of stay has expired;

(6)

your travel document will expire in 3 months;

(7)

you need to depart Hong Kong and will not return before the expiry of your limit of stay;

  • *Applicant’s valid travel document containing personal particulars, date of issue, date of expiry and/or details of any re-entry visa held (if applicable). For an applicant who is currently staying in the HKSAR, his/her valid travel document page containing the latest arrival stamp/landing slip/extension of stay label in the HKSAR and the latest issued “e-Visa” (if applicable). A Chinese resident of the Mainland who has not been issued with a travel document may submit his/her People’s Republic of China resident identity card

  • *Official transcript of academic records, graduation certificate or supporting letter from the degree awarding institution showing the applicant's attainment of undergraduate or higher qualification in a full-time and locally-accredited programme in the HKSAR or in a full-time programme offered by a higher education institution in the Mainland cities of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area jointly established by universities of the Mainland and Hong Kong in accordance with the Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Chinese-Foreign Cooperation in Running Schools.

  • *Company’s employment contract with or letter of appointment to the applicant containing information about post, salary, other fringe benefits and employment period

  • Other supporting documents,such as:
    • Applicant’s Macao identity card [for Macao SAR residents only]
    • Applicant’s household registration in Taiwan and Taiwan identity card [for Taiwan resident’s only]
    • Proof of the applicant’s overseas residence, such as copy of official documents showing the applicant’s conditions of stay and limit of stay endorsed by overseas authorities [ for overseas Chinese holding PRC passports only]

Please note that in the online application process, the applicant, dependant (if applicable) and/or authorised person of the employer (if applicable) will be required to fill in an online application form and sign to confirm that all information given in the online application form is correct, complete and true. If the dependant is under the age of 16 (child dependant), the online application form must be signed by his/her parent or legal guardian.

File Formats

Before uploading the required documents, you will need to scan them in one of the following formats:

File type: JPEG, PDF, GIF, PNG or TIF (RAW, LZW, JPEG, CCITT-G4)

File size: 5Mbytes or below for each file

Colour depth: Grayscale (for documents without photos)

                        Colour (for documents with photos)

Please ensure that the information you provide is correct. Incorrect information may render your submission invalid.

Group Submission

If your accompanying dependants are also applying for the visa/entry permit, you can submit their applications with yours as a group. The maximum number of applications that can be submitted in each group is four. The system will guide you through the steps of providing the personal information of each applicant, and uploading the documents required. If you cannot obtain the online submission acknowledgment at the end of the process, you will have to re-submit the applications.

Supplementary Document Submission

If you have applied for IANG online through GovHK and received a notification letter from the Immigration Department asking you to provide supplementary documents, you can use the online submission service.
