Electronic Notices, Documents and Alert Messages for Property Tax Matters
Electronic Notices and Documents
Subject to your selection under the "File Profile" of Property Tax (excluding properties solely owned by individuals), electronic notices and documents (the Electronic Notices) related to property tax assessment and payment will be sent to the Message Box in your eTAX Account. You can look for the Electronic Notices under "Property Tax Matters" of your message inbox. Upon your selection under "User Profile", a separate email will also be sent to your e-mail address to advise you to read such Electronic Notices.
These Electronic Notices will be retained in the Message Box for 6 years from the date of issue.
Electronic Notices related to Assessment
Electronic Notices related to assessment include:
- Notice of assessment and demand for tax
- Notification of revision of assessment
- Notification of holdover of provisional tax
- Notification of cancellation of assessment
- Advice on tax held over upon objection
By clicking the links provided in the Electronic Notices, you can pay tax via electronic means, lodge an objection against and request amendment of an assessment.
Electronic Notices related to Tax Payment
Electronic Notices related to tax payment include:
- e-Receipts for postal and electronic payments*
- Confirmation of Payment requested through eTAX – Individual Tax Portal (ITP)*
- Tax Recovery
(i) Notice of Surcharge for Overdue Tax
(ii) Reminder for Overdue Tax
(iii) Advice on Recovery of Tax from a Third Party
Except for the Advice on Recovery of Tax from a Third Party, other Electronic Notices for tax recovery contain links to financial institutions to facilitate immediate settlement of overdue tax by electronic means. Alternatively, you can print a payment voucher for payment in person or by post.
Electronic Alert Messages
You will be provided with alert messages for any payment due to be made.
These alert messages will be sent to the inbox of the Message Box in your eTAX Account. Upon your selection under "User Profile", a note will also be sent to your e-mail address to advise you to read such messages.
Alert messages will be retained in your message inbox for 6 years from the date of issue.
Alert Message for Tax Payment *
Approximately one week before the payment due date, you will receive with an alert message reminding you to pay tax.
By clicking the links provided in the alert message, you can view details of the tax bill and make electronic payment.
* These types of e-messages will be issued irrespective of your preference for electronic notices.
