You can now make use of this online service provided by the Immigration Department to submit the information required for registration of marriage. This article will give you the details about this online service.

Who Can Use This Service?

You can use this online service after you have successfully made an appointment for giving the Notice of Intended Marriage (the notice) through the Internet or by telephone.

Services Available through This Online Service

Using this online service, you can submit online the information required for registration of marriage in advance for shortening the processing time of giving the notice at the Registrar's office.  You should submit it at least one day before your scheduled appointment.

You should get ready the following information of both of you for completion of the information sheet “Information Required for Registration of Marriage” (Form MR 21B) online:

  • name and surname
  • marital condition (i.e. whether you are a bachelor/spinster; widower/widow; a divorced person; or previously married by any form of marriage)
  • occupation
  • age
  • residential address
  • the full name of your parents
  • in the case of either party is under the age of 21 – the name, address and capacity of the person consenting to the marriage (i.e. the relevant person or persons specified in the Third Schedule to the Marriage Ordinance)

Part of the information you provided will be used for the preparation of the notice and the marriage certificate. You should ensure the correctness of the information you provided. If the submitted information is incorrect, you can make corrections when you turn up on the appointment date for giving the notice.
