T ▪ PARK, the state-of-the-art Sludge Treatment Facility located in Tuen Mun, reflects Hong Kong’s vision to embrace the concept of "waste-to-energy" and to transform people's attitudes towards waste management.
The Organic Resources Recovery Centre Phase 1 and Phase 2 (O·PARK1 and O·PARK2) are located in Siu Ho Wan in Lantau Island and Sha Ling in the North District. Both O·PARK1 and O·PARK2 adopt anaerobic digestion technology to convert food waste into biogas for electricity generation. The residues from the process can be converted into compost or fertilizer as a by-product for landscaping and agricultural applications.
