What is "E-Licensing Portal"?

"E-Licensing Portal" (e-LP) of the Transport Department (TD) is an online platform providing one-stop service for licence / permit applications and enquiries. Users can view the information and expiry dates of their driving licences, vehicle licences and permits through "Dashboard", check their driving-offence points (DOP), receive reminders on vehicle and driving licence expiry, submit online licensing applications and track the progress and results, etc.

How to log in e-LP?

  • For Hong Kong Identity Card (HKIC) holders, please use “iAM Smart” to log in e-LP.
  • If users do not have an “iAM Smart” account, please visit “iAM Smart” webpage for registration before logging in e-LP; or click “More info” on e-LP login page to access “iAM Smart” webpage.
  • For non-HKIC holders, please click “Register Now” on e-LP login page to register a new account to log in e-LP.

Is the registration of “iAM Smart” a prerequisite for users to log in e-LP?

Yes, for HKIC holders.

“iAM Smart” will connect to e-LP and users could search for their licensing information registered with their HKID number under TD.

When will the information be updated in e-LP?

Normally a few days are required for the changed information to be reflected in e-LP. Licensing information in e-LP is not updated on a real time basis. Please check the related information at least a few days after submission of applications to TD.

What kind of information will be provided in the inbox messages?

System notifications and important updates from e-LP / TD will be sent to users’ inbox.
