Highlight of Interesting Issues
- The "game zone approach" launched by the Licensing Authority in April 2008 has greatly streamlined the application process for change of "amusement with prize" in licensed places of public entertainment, e.g. family amusement centres and theme parks.
- Any alterations inside the licensed area of a licensed theme park would require prior approval of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, the licensing authorities, be it minor or major ones.
- Buildings Department, Fire Services Department and Food and Environmental Hygiene Department are most happy to provide pre-submission enquiry service on individual cases.
- The type approval of marquees granted by Buildings Department has streamlined the process of "Application for Temporary PPE Licence".
- If applicants have insurmountable difficulties in complying with the prescribed fire services requirements, fire engineering approach is acceptable to Fire Services Department.
