Online Application for Certificate of Driving Licence Particulars

Note: You need an "iAM Smart+" account with digital signing function or a valid personal digital certificate for the application.

Who Can Apply Online?

You can apply online if you:

• currently hold or have previously held a driving licence.

What Do I Need for Online Application?

• An "iAM Smart+" account’ with digital signing function (see the image below) or a valid personal digital certificate issued by recognised Certification Authorities, e.g. Hongkong Post (see the image below).

• An FPS or PPS account, credit card (Visa, MasterCard, JCB or China UnionPay) or Chinese Mainland’s Licensed Digital Wallets (Alipay, WeChat Pay or UnionPay QuickPass) for payment.

Note 1: Visa, MasterCard and JCB offer additional security programs to give their cardholders extra protection when they make online payments.  You must register in advance with Verified by Visa (VbV), MasterCard® SecureCode^TM or J/Secure^TM.

Note 2: PPS and Chinese Mainland’s Licensed Digital Wallets do not support payment via browsers of mobile devices (including mobile phones and tablets) at the moment. If you wish to pay by PPS or Chinese Mainland’s Licensed Digital Wallets, please use a desktop computer.

• A printer to print out a hard copy of the acknowledgement page and the certificate of driving licence particulars, or a storage device to save your application details.

How Much Should I Pay for the Certificate of Driving Licence Particulars?

The fee for each Certificate of Driving Licence Particulars is HK$160.

If you wish to reprint the Certificate of Driving Licence Particular, upon successful application, you may log in the online platform to reprint the certificate within 72 hours. 

Can I Apply for the Certificate of Driving Licence Particulars by Post?

You can submit application by post, in which case the Certificate of Driving Licence Particulars will be sent to your correspondence address by registered post within 10 working days upon receipt of your application.

Underpaid mail items will be rejected.  Please pay sufficient postage to ensure mail items can duly reach the Transport Department.
