Buying Government Photos Online

The Photo Library of the Information Services Department is one of the largest and most important photo archives in Hong Kong, containing a treasure trove of photos which show the many and varied facets of life in Hong Kong. You can browse the photo library online and purchase the photos you like.

How to Start

Once you have entered the website, you may search for photos using key words, dates, subject or topics. After selecting the photos you wish to purchase and completing the payment, you will receive an e-mail acknowledging receipt of your order and payment along with an internet link to download the photos. The internet link is valid for one month. You are strongly advised to download the photos within the downloading period. Refunds will not be provided.

User Registration

Before you click "Add to Cart" for selected photos, you should first register a user account. After registration, you can place your order and view your purchase records in "My Order". If the photos are to be published for non-commercial purposes, you may apply to waive the copyright/commercial use fees at the same time. Payment

The Government Photo Store accepts payment by credit card (JCB, MasterCard, UnionPay and Visa), Faster Payment System (FPS), WeChat Pay and Alipay.
