Ozone Layer Protection and Combat Climate Change

The international community signed the Montreal Protocol to phase out the use of ozone-depleting substances (ODS) which has achieved remarkable results in protecting the ozone layer. To combat the climate change caused by the ODS alternatives, hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), the parties to the Montreal Protocol adopted the Kigali Amendment to regulate HFCs. This article outlines Hong Kong’s targets and action to phase down HFCs and how you can help.
