Weather goes Wi-Fi
At any of the GovWiFi premises, visitors can obtain the latest weather information nearest to that location with their mobile devices connected to the GovWiFi captive portal.
New Look of the GovWiFi service
A new design of the GovWiFi service is launched on 1 June 2009. The enhanced captive portal has a simple design and user-friendly interface, with better accessibility, where citizens can easily access public information specifically related to the government venue that they are located. For examples, citizens visiting Job Centres can access information on job vacancies, application procedures, various reports and forms; while populace at community centres can find local weather and district information conveniently.

"Ubiquitous City - Hong Kong"
The government sponsored a "Ubiquitous City - HK" project initiated by the industry in November 2007 which aims at encouraging industry players to develop applications and content to ride on the Wi-Fi networks in Hong Kong. A number of Wi-Fi application systems and services have been developed under this project. For further details, please visit the following website: http://www.hkwdc.org/marketing/captive.html
