The appointment booking service is available 24 hours a day.  Subject to quotas, you can make advanced bookings up to 12 working days ahead of the required appointment date.  The earliest booking date is the next working day.

Q2. How can I make an appointment?

You can book an appointment through the GovHK website: www.gov.hk/icbooking or the 24-hour telephone booking hotline at 2598 0888.

Q3. If a group wants to make appointments, do the individuals have to make separately?

No, they need not make appointments separately. You can make an appointment for up to four applicants. All applicants should attend the chosen office together at the selected time and obtain number tags for registration. However, if the number of people in your group exceeds the remaining quota at the selected time, you will be asked to select another time.

Q4. What should I do when I arrive at the Registration of Persons Office?

When you arrive at the Registration of Persons Office, you should approach the reception counter and produce the acknowledgement of booking or tell the officer your identity document number and the time slot you have booked. You will then be given a number tag and an application form. While waiting for your turn, you should read and complete the application form carefully. When your tag number is displayed on the plasma panel in the waiting hall, you should proceed to the specified registration booth for the registration formalities.

Q5. What if the appointment booking quota on the date I select has already been filled?

If the quota for the selected date has been filled, you can make an appointment on another date or submit your application in person at any of the Registration of Persons Offices subject to the walk-in quota on that day.

Q6. If I make an appointment online, can I change or cancel it through the telephone system?

Yes. The online and telephone appointment booking systems are inter-linked in handling the appointment bookings. You can change or cancel your appointment through either of the 2 systems.

Q7. What should I do if I cannot attend the scheduled appointment?

If you are unable to attend the Registration of Persons Office as scheduled, you should change or cancel the booking at least one day before the scheduled date so that the reserved time slot can be released for use by other applicants.

Q8. If I want to change an appointment, what will be the earliest booking date?

Subject to quotas, you can make an appointment on the next working day at the earliest.
